Biography
Dr Yasser Alheraish is currently working as a Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He received his Medical Degree from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2000. He went on to complete his Pediatric Residency Program at KFSH&RC in 2006 which was then followed by completion of his Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship program.Dr Alheraish then spend four years in Canada where he completed a two-year Pediatric Intensive Care Fellowship Program at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, with a further two years at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario in the Cardiac Unit of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Dr Alheraish returned to Riyadh in 2015 and in October of that year he joined the Medical staff of the Heart Centre, at KFSH&RC as a Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist where he currently continues to practice.Dr Alheraish is actively involved with in the education and training for the Pediatric ECMO program at KFSH&RC and he is working with his colleagues on Pediatric heart transplant and ECMO protocol at KFSHRC,and will soon be taking on the additional role of Director for the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Fellowship Program. This is a recently established program that was proposed and accepted by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, likely for commencement in early 2019. Dr Alheraish was part of a group that identified a lack of advanced speciality programs for Pediatric Intensivists in the Middle East, hence this unique program was developed.
